Effaced affiliates are well-versed in study design and developing sampling strategies for quasi- experimental evaluations and randomized controlled research studies. Our experts are adept in multivariate regression analysis (linear, logistic, Poisson, other methods), household and facility-based surveys, analysis of longitudinal data and time-series data and health economic evaluations. Affiliates apply rigorous qualitative research methods for stand-alone research, or to complement robust quantitative methods.
We have experience building capacity applying adult instructional methodologies. Our capacity building approaches include twinning, learning-by-doing, plan-study-do-act (PDSA), positive deviance, remote virtual learning (synchronous and asynchronous) and traditional classroom methods using gamification tactics.
Effaced’s affiliates include nurses and doctors who have provided direct patient care of patients with HIV/AIDS, TB, Dengue, and other infectious diseases. We have worked with marginalized populations at the community level in both urban and rural populations.
Our combined skills and experiences meet sundry international development and humanitarian assistance needs.

FOUNDER + CEO
Annette Bongiovanni is driven by a deep passion for contributing to resilient, sustainable health systems worldwide through research and evaluation. She brings over 30 years of experience in portfolio and project management, strategic growth, health systems strengthening, and local capacity development. With expertise spanning infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS, Ebola, and TB as well as maternal and child health, Annette has led projects worldwide—from Africa to Latin America and the Caribbean to Asia to Eastern Europe and the Middle East—aiming to create health solutions that are both impactful and enduring.
Annette established Effaced because she wanted to return to her roots in development and work side-by-side with local partners in twinning relationships. She gathered together some of her trusted colleagues with whom she has worked with throughout her career. Together, they created a platform for thought leadership in health systems, resilience, and localization. Effaced affiliates deliberate some of development’s most pernicious challenges and have contributed to the body of evidence that informs those discussions.
Our hope is to build new partnerships superimposed on our existing expansive network and share our respective learnings with local colleagues across the globe.
